Cost. A bridal lehenga bought outright runs into six figures and gets worn once. Renting the same category of outfit costs a fraction of that, which is why most couples now put the difference into the venue or the shoot instead of the wardrobe.

Renting means a different outfit for the engagement, the mehendi, the pre-wedding shoot and the reception — without four purchases sitting in a cupboard afterwards. Our collection spans traditional Indian wear through to Indo-western and formal Western styles.
Fit without commitment. Every rental at our Jayanagar studio includes a trial and on-the-spot pinning. You get a fitted outfit without permanent alterations to something you’ll never wear again.
No upkeep. Return the outfit as-is within 24 hours of your event. Dry-cleaning, steaming and storage are ours to handle — not a task waiting for you the week after the wedding.
Sustainability. One rented outfit circulates through dozens of events instead of dozens of garments being manufactured for one wear each. Textile waste is one of the larger contributors to landfill volume in India, and rental is the most direct way an individual reduces it.
What’s in the RentRobe Collection
RentRobe stocks outfits for both men and women, spanning traditional Indian wear, Indo-western silhouettes and formal Western dressing. Most pieces leave the studio for weddings and pre-wedding shoots, so the collection is built around what holds up on camera and through a full day of wear.
For Women
Gowns — Cinderella gowns with structured bodices and full trails, infinity gowns that drape multiple ways from a single piece, and floor-length evening gowns for receptions and cocktail nights.
Indian wear — Bridal and party lehengas, half-sarees (south lehengas), ready-to-wear infinity sarees that skip the pleating entirely, and a separate blouse range for pairing with your own saree.
Indo-western and party wear — Draped gowns, cape sets, jacket lehengas and contemporary silhouettes for sangeet, mehendi and engagement functions.
For Men
Indian wear — Sherwanis, princecoats, bundis, kurta sets, dhotis, and headwear including petas and pagdis.
Western formals — Three-piece suits, blazers and tuxedos in wedding and event-appropriate cuts.
Accessories — Ties, bow ties, suspenders, golf hats and mufflers, available with an outfit or on their own.
Choosing Between Lehenga, Half-Saree and Infinity Saree
Lehenga — The default for brides and close family at weddings and sangeets. Heavier work, more structure, and the most photographed silhouette we rent. Needs the most advance booking during wedding season.
Half-saree (south lehenga) — Traditional to South Indian ceremonies, particularly ritu kala samskara and engagements. Lighter than a bridal lehenga and easier to move in across a long function.
Ready-to-wear infinity saree — Pre-stitched and pre-pleated, so it goes on in under a minute with no pinning. The practical choice for outdoor pre-wedding shoots where you’re changing on location without a dressing room.
Blouses — Rented separately if you’re pairing with a saree you already own. Adjustable-fit and padded options available, with pinning done at the trial.
The men’s collection includes items like blazers, kurtas, princecoats, bundis, three-piece suits, ties, suspenders with bow ties, golf hats, mufflers, dhotis, petas, and pagdis.

How to Get the Most Out of a Dress Rental
Book early — and earlier for wedding season. Two to three weeks is enough for a regular date. For November through February, and around major festivals, work on four to six weeks. Bridal lehengas and heavy sherwanis go first, so the gap between “booking early” and “booking late” is usually the difference between your first choice and your third.
Bring three measurements to the trial. Bust, waist and hip. We shortlist against those before you arrive, so a trial takes thirty minutes instead of two hours. Minor fit adjustments and pinning are done on the spot at the studio.
Book both outfits together if you’re shooting. Most pre-wedding couples change once mid-shoot, and bride-and-groom pairs are usually rented as a set. One booking is simpler and cheaper than sourcing two separately.
Match the outfit to the venue, not just the occasion. Deep jewel tones read well against greenery at Elements Resort and Urban Valley. Lighter pastels suit indoor sets and Shire Studio. Trailing gowns need open ground; they fight you on a staircase shoot.
Bring your own footwear and inner wear. We rent the outfit and accessories. Shoes and undergarments are yours to arrange.
